Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let this mixture foam for about 5-10 minutes.
- Add the salt, oil, and flour to the foam mixture. Stir to combine and form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Punch the dough down to release the air, then shape it into 2 loaves and place them in greased pans.
- Cover the pans and let the shaped loaves rise for another 30–45 minutes until they puff up.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the loaves for 30–35 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Remove the loaves from the oven and allow them to cool before slicing.
Notes
To keep your White Bread fresh, store it in an airtight container or wrap it in plastic wrap once cooled. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage. Make sure not to skip kneading; it's vital for the bread's texture. Experiment with different ingredients for variations.
