  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups pecans Consider toasting them lightly for added flavor.
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk For the caramel sauce.
  • 1 14 ounce bag caramels Used to make the caramel sauce.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions.
  2. Prepare the cake batter as directed on the package and pour into a greased cake pan.
  3. Bake as directed.
Caramel Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine the evaporated milk and caramels over medium heat until melted and smooth.
Assembly
  1. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes in the top with a fork.
  2. Pour the caramel mixture over the cake and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
  3. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes
