  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • Additional melted butter for brushing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it feels smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, until they are golden brown.
  3. Brush the rolls with additional melted butter before serving.

Notes

Serve these rolls warm, brushed with melted butter. They are delightful with soups or stews. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven to enjoy again.
