Pastry and Filling
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 250 g minced meat Can use ground chicken or turkey as a lighter option.
  • 1 cup grated cheese Use any cheese that melts well, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or feta.
  • 1 egg, beaten For brushing the top.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit your desired size.
  3. In a skillet, cook the minced meat over medium heat until browned. Season it with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Let the meat cool slightly, then mix in the grated cheese and chopped parsley.
  5. Place a spoonful of the mixture onto the pastry and fold it over, sealing the edges well.
  6. Brush the top with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.
  7. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until it’s golden brown and puffed.
Serving
  1. Serve warm and enjoy! Best enjoyed on their own or with a side of your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the pastries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to regain crispiness. For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or bell peppers to the meat mixture.
