Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading) Use as needed for kneading.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (around 110-115°F) Ensure water is warm but not hot for yeast activation.

Method

Mix the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. Add the olive oil and warm water to the dry ingredients.
  3. Stir until a shaggy ball of dough forms.
Knead the Dough
  1. Stand Mixer: Use a dough hook and mix until smooth and a ball forms, about 3 minutes. Cover with a towel and let rise for 15 minutes.
  2. By Hand: Place the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, adding more flour if necessary. Cover it with a bowl or towel and allow it to rise for 15 minutes.
Roll and Bake
  1. Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick. This dough will make one 16" pizza or two 12" pizzas.
  2. Top with your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 450°F for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust turns golden brown.

Notes

Serve your homemade pizza hot out of the oven, cut into slices, and ready to be enjoyed. Pair it with a fresh salad or some dipping sauces for that extra special touch. If you have leftover dough, let it cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze uncooked dough for up to 2 months.
