Method
Making the Dough
- Place the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl of a standing mixer, and mix until combined.
- Attach the dough hook to the mixer. Gradually add the warm water to the flour mixture and mix on low speed until the dough comes together, about 2-3 minutes.
- Continue mixing on low-medium speed for an additional 7 minutes until the dough is smooth, elastic, and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Add flour if sticky or more water if dry.
- Transfer the dough to a large bowl brushed with olive oil, tossing to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Alternatively, refrigerate the dough overnight or for up to 24 hours. If refrigerating, allow it to come to room temperature for 30-60 minutes before using.
- Once the dough has risen, gently punch it to remove some air, and it’s ready to be shaped.
Baking the Pizza
- Stretch the dough to your desired thickness and top with your favorite ingredients.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy. Serve hot.
Notes
Wrap leftover dough tightly in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before using.
