  • 2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Softened for easier mixing
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the filling
  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced Use a mix of sweet and tart apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
For the crumb topping
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and softened butter to form a dough. Press the dough into a pie pan.
  3. In another bowl, mix the sliced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar; layer this mixture over the crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, and melted butter to create the crumb topping. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown.
  2. Let it cool before serving.

Notes

For easier slicing, let the pie cool completely before cutting into it. Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of your apples. Consider adding raisins or nuts for added texture.
