Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Cooking spray For spraying the air fryer basket.
  • Cinnamon sugar For coating the churros.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, coconut oil, sugar, and salt; bring to a boil.
  2. Stir in flour and baking powder until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let it cool slightly, then add it to a piping bag.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pipe small strips of dough into the air fryer basket, making sure to space them apart.
  3. Spray with cooking spray.
  4. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove and coat in cinnamon sugar while warm.
Serving
  1. Serve these tasty churro bites warm, dusted generously with cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Make sure to let the dough cool slightly before piping. Experiment with different spices in the cinnamon sugar, like nutmeg or a touch of vanilla. Keep an eye on the churro bites as they cook; every air fryer is a bit different and can cook at varying speeds.
