Dough Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup warm water Make sure the water is warm, not hot.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, condensed milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll and place in a greased baking pan.
  3. Let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Enjoy warm, ideally with butter.

These rolls are best served warm with butter. They pair wonderfully with soups, salads, and main dishes. For breakfast, enjoy them with jam or honey. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for longer freshness.
