Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm milk Make sure it's warm but not hot
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast Let it sit with milk until bubbly
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter Melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Filling and Topping
  • 1 cup Fruit jam or preserves Choose your favorite flavor
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the wet ingredients with the yeast mixture.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
  7. Let the dough rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Once risen, roll out the dough and cut into circles.
  2. Place a spoonful of jam in the center of half the circles, then cover with another circle, sealing the edges.
  3. Place on a baking sheet and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

These baked paczki are best served fresh, while they’re still warm. Try different fruit jams for unique flavors. For storage, keep them in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for a week.
