Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 4 to 4 ½ cups all-purpose, bread, or pizza flour Use any of the three types for different textures.
  • 1 tbsp sugar Helps with browning the crust.
  • 2 tsp salt Enhances flavor.
  • 2 ¼ tsp Quick Rise Instant yeast You can use regular dry yeast if preferred.
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (105°F-110°F) Ensure temperature is correct to activate yeast.
  • 3 tbsp olive oil For richness in flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F if you plan to bake your pizza immediately.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  3. Pour in the warm water and olive oil, then mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
  4. On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes if using Quick Rise yeast, or 60-90 minutes for standard yeast.
  6. Once it has risen, divide the dough into two balls. Roll each one into a 10-12 inch circle or press it into a greased baking pan.
Baking
  1. Spread your favorite pizza sauce on top, sprinkle cheese, and load it up with your favorite toppings.
  2. Bake your pizza for 12-15 minutes for a thinner crust or 20-22 minutes for a thicker one, until it’s golden and bubbly.

Notes

If you have leftover dough, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight before using. For a crispy crust, try pre-baking the dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
