Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt together.
  2. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in enough ice water to form a dough.
Assembly
  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into circles.
  2. Place a tablespoon of your chosen filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal the edges tightly.
Baking
  1. Bake the empanadas at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with dips like salsa or guacamole. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freeze unbaked empanadas for longer storage.
