Preparation
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Season the beef roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the onions.
- Pour the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce over the roast.
- If using, add chopped carrots and potatoes around the roast.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.
- Once done, shred the beef with two forks and serve with the juices.
Notes
For extra flavor, sear the beef roast in a hot pan for a few minutes on each side before placing it in the slow cooker. Mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a bit of cold water and stir into the juices in the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving for a thicker gravy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
