  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Can substitute with soy sauce and vinegar mix.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Season as desired.
  • Optional: carrots, potatoes, herbs (like thyme or rosemary) Customize with vegetables you have on hand.

Method

Preparation
  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the onions.
  3. Pour the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce over the roast.
  4. If using, add chopped carrots and potatoes around the roast.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender.
  2. Once done, shred the beef with two forks and serve with the juices.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the beef roast in a hot pan for a few minutes on each side before placing it in the slow cooker. Mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a bit of cold water and stir into the juices in the slow cooker 30 minutes before serving for a thicker gravy. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
