Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
Baking
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool a bit before cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with honey. Pair with fresh fruit or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for a week. Can freeze portions for up to three months.
