- In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream and milk.
Layering and Baking
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheeses.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle fresh parsley or chives on top before serving. Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices and season each layer with salt and pepper. For added flavor, consider minced garlic or nutmeg in the cream mixture.
