Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, salt, and flour gradually until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1-2 hours).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan and let it rise again until doubled (about 30-60 minutes).
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
To keep your Craftsman Bread fresh, store it at room temperature in a breadbox or in a paper bag. For longer storage, wrap it tightly and freeze. Reheat in the oven when ready to enjoy.
