  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups warm water Ensure the water is warm, not hot.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon instant yeast

  • Olive oil for brushing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Gradually add warm water and mix until a wet, sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature.
Baking
  1. After rising, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a rectangle.
  2. Let it rest for about 30 minutes, then preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  3. Carefully transfer the dough onto a baking sheet and score the top with a sharp knife.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Brush with olive oil before serving.

Notes

To keep your ciabatta fresh, store it in a paper bag at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, wrap it tightly and freeze.
