For the Garlic Aioli

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Assembly
  • 4 pieces brioche buns
  • none Leafy romaine lettuce
  • none Sliced tomatoes

Method

Preparation and Marination
  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk and Cajun seasoning. Add the chicken breasts, cover, and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Prepare Coating
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Fry Chicken
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat (about 350°F).
  2. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  3. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, drain it on paper towels and let it rest for a few minutes.
Prepare Aioli
  1. While the chicken is frying, prepare the garlic aioli by mixing the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Assembly
  1. To assemble, spread garlic aioli on the bottom half of each brioche bun, add some lettuce, a slice of tomato, and the crispy chicken.
  2. Top it with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve your Cajun Crispy Chicken Sandwich while it's hot for the best crunch and flavor. Pair it with a side of crispy fries, sweet potato wedges, or a fresh salad for a complete meal. Don’t forget to add extra garlic aioli on the side for dipping!
